How it works
Four phases, from pick-out to install.
Most folks have never bought countertops before, so here is the whole path, start to finish. We tell you what is next at every step, and there are no surprises along the way.
Phase 1
Pick it out
This is the fun part. We help you choose everything that goes into your new countertops.
- Come see us in the showroom, give us a call, or send your project in through the website.
- Send us your measurements so we can work up a real price.
- Pick your material, or the few you are deciding between.
- Pick your sink.
- Pick your edge profile.
- Put down a deposit to get on the schedule.
Phase 2
Get ready and template
Before we measure, we make sure your kitchen is ready so template day goes smooth.
- Send us photos of your current kitchen so we can check it is ready for template.
- We usually call within two to three weeks to set up your template.
- We come out and template your space.
- You give us the final go-ahead on your material.
Phase 3
Fabrication
Now your stone gets made. This part happens in our own shop here in Cayce.
- We schedule your job for fabrication in house.
- We cut and finish your stone in our shop.
- We call you to set up your install.
Phase 4
Install
Install day. We set your countertops and you start enjoying them.
- We install your new countertops.
- Final payment is due the day we install.
Between template and fabrication
Digital laser templating and the CNC saw
Template day is the measurement that counts. We take a digital laser template of the room, so what goes into fabrication is a map of the space you actually have, out-of-square corners and all, instead of numbers copied off a tape measure.
That file carries the agreed layout into fabrication. Before anything is cut we go over it with you: where a seam falls, how far an overhang comes out, where the sink opening lands, and which way the veining flows across a joint. You see the layout on your own slab while it can still change.
Once the layout is settled, the file goes to our Sasso K600 XL Extreme, a five-axis CNC saw in the Cayce shop, when that is the right machine for your job. Five axes let it shape the edge profile and the openings from the same file you already looked at.
What this buys you is a measured fit and a plan you already agreed to, not a magic guarantee. Stone does not always cooperate. Veining will not line up perfectly on both sides of every cut, and some layouts need a seam whether anybody likes it or not. The difference is that you see those calls before the cut, not after the install.

A note on timing
We schedule everything to the best of our ability. Things like weather or sickness can move a date now and then. If that happens, we will call you and get it back on track.
A note on standards
We work this way because we're a Natural Stone Institute member, and that comes with real expectations about how we handle fabrication and installation.
